Do You Believe In Magic?
But if you are thinking of starting a career in magic, the best way is to start early. In case your not, its never to late to start but will take you a little harder. You can make your first step by buying your first magic trick box and learn the basic magic tricks from cards, coins to threads and other a little complicated magic tricks. Though this may sound so elementary for you, this is still the best introduction to magic you can find. The box, however, will not tell you how to act in front of an audience. You have to make your own efforts and initiatives. A good way to learn this is by watching magic shows and observe how the masters do their tricks in front of an audience.
If you have been doing your homework, then you will observe that the masters do the top 3 things while performing magic in front of an audience:
1. Do a nice patter - this means that you should put your act well by pulling some appropriate dialogue to perform your magic trick. Learn some jokes, ask your audience some questions and use a lot of hand movements. This will make them distracted but focused on you instead of finding out how you did the magic. A magic show can turn into a theatrical event if you want it to become one. This is not as easy as you think and you will not get by just a few practices and watching the masters do it.
You need a lot of effort, discipline and ability on your part and of course countless practice. To guide you in this trick you should remember and follow religiously two things: a) maintain eye contact with your spectator. Be sure that you have your spectators' attention only to you and listening to whatever you say; b) it pays if you have a sense of humor because it makes your audience feel relaxed and conditions them only to be caught off guard of what you have to perform.
2. The after effect - after wowing your audience with your act, let them continue their amazement with your trick, let them continuously react to your next tricks. Do not make them lose their attention to you and most importantly, do not say anything. If they asked you how you did that just remain quiet. Never pull the plug and give away your act or else all the mystery will fade away.
3. Be confident - Never perform in an audience if you know that you are not yet ready. Nervousness can easily give your trick away. A lot of practice breeds confidence. You need to convince your audience that not only your trick is magical but you as well.
If you master all these techniques, it will be much easier for you to win your audience - kids or adults. You can even go from up close magic to platform magic and stage magic like what Copperfield does but of course that requires a lot of experience and expertise plus a lot of help from cameras.
The key to being a master magician is to learn how to perform magic in an instant using a lot of borrowed objects. Magic is just a quarter of your trick but how you do your trick is the most important. Your presentation in front of an audience is the key not some spectacular, complicated magic.
More help is on your way if you know where to find it Check out some magic shops nearby your area. Make a list of the tricks you wanted to learn and bring them to the shop. Ask the owner to perform some on your list, teach you how and try it in front of him. Practice them in front of mirror as soon as you go home. You will be amazed at how fast you can do all these tricks.
If you think you are ready for an audience, organize and host a party and perform your magic for free. If your confident enough, there is a lot of possibility that some will ask you to perform in an event or another party, be ready to market yourself and hand out business cards.
Now, that is how you get started in the field of magic.

Magic Tricks You Can Do With Ease
| Criss Angel and David Copperfield are two of the most famous magicians in entertainment. Their performances have renewed interest in magic tricks and they regularly draw huge crowds to their shows. If you want to be a master magician, there are simple magic tricks you can do at home. In this article, we'll show you a few techniques that will help you astound your audience. For the "Film Prediction" trick, ask several people to each name a movie and you write each of the titles on sperate slips of paper. Fold the pieces of paper and throw them into a container. After writing down the titles, you write the name of one of the films on a final slip and show it to everyone. Have a volunteer reach into the container, randomly select a piece of paper and read it aloud. It will be the movie you predicted. How is this possible? When the first volunteer names a movie, say "Pirates Of The Caribbean", write it down. When the other volunteers name a movie, you continue to write "Pirates Of The Caribbean" on each slip of paper. This is the secret. Just be casual about it make sure no one sees what you're writing! One of the easiest magic tricks to perform is called "Cold As Ice". This takes a little preparation but is very simple to do. Pour some water into a cup and whisper magical words. When you turn over the cup, all that comes out is a chunk of ice! The secret is the cup contains a sponge that absorbs the water and prevents the water from spilling out. The ice is already on top of the sponge and simply falls out. Beforehand, stuff the sponge into the mug and make sure that it rests on the bottom. Place the ice on top and you're ready to go. Before you perform the trick, you'll have to experiment with the amount of water to pour into the mug. The more water that you pour in, the more impressive the trick will be, but beware, if you pour too much water into the cup the sponge won't be able to absorb it all. These are simple magic tricks but there are a few things that can make your act seem like it came straight from a magical world! Remember that a magician never shares his secrets. Resist the temptation to reveal how the trick worked and never do the same trick more than once for the same audience. It makes it too easy for the audience to guess how it was done. Wherever you can, borrow the objects from the audience. Borrowing from the audience makes it seem like the magician hasn't had time to do anything sneaky to the item. Creating the magical aura of illusions can make you a hit at any gathering but it's important that you practice your magic tricks first. Never do a trick in front of an audience unless you are thoroughly familiar with the routine. It's also important to be lively and enthusiastic while you're performing. Your excitement will be contagious and your audience will enjoy themselves as well as being impressed with your amazing skills. |

We practical magicians know that there is some trickery involved in levitation as a performance. However, there are those who believe in the real phenomenon of levitation as a form of psychokinesis, or the ability to move objects just with the power of the mind. The only people said to be able to perform levitation in reality are the spiritual elite, or those possessed by spiritual forces, like shamans, people in trances, or those possessed by a devil.
Now I don't know anyone who's actually seen a REAL levitation outside a magic performance, so take this for what you will….
I mean, you can sit on the floor and meditate and wait to "lift off," but unless you're really in possession of some special supernatural forces I don't think you're going to have too much luck!
What I am here to show you is how to perform the trick of levitation, to give your audience the impression that you are floating, or else causing some other object to float.

How to Start Learning Magic Tricks
The first thing you have to do is figure out why you want to learn magic Chances are, you are not doing this for the money because there is not that much you can get from it except if you become very famous like David Copperfield or David Blaine.
For some, they simply wanted to follow the footsteps of their favorite magicians which they saw as they were growing up. Whatever your reason is, that is up to you.
Before you start learning magic tricks, you have to learn its history. Magic has been used for hundreds of years. Technology has helped make it bigger than it has ever been but in order to understand it, you have to learn how and why it works. From there, you will learn the various techniques and get an idea what you want to specialize in.
Once you have figured that out, it is time to learn the basics. There are books about magic tricks as well as tutorials which you can view online. Study them and then see if you can do the same thing until you are able to do these on your own.
Since almost every magic needs some sort of tools to make it work, you have to buy some by visiting your local magic store or purchase these items online. When you are able to master the simple tricks, you can now move on to the more challenging ones.
Whenever you practice doing some tricks, be sure to have a friend or a family member watch how you do it. Their feedback is very important so you will know if what you are doing is right. It also wouldn’t hurt to record yourself with a video camera then play it back later.
You are the only one who can tell if you are ready to put on a magic show or not. If you think it is time, sign up and be one of the many who will be part of the amateur magic show. Remember that you only have a limited time on stage so choose the best magic trick you know and give it your all.
Be sure to keep eye contact with the audience because you are expected to entertain them. If ever you make a mistake, just apologize and move on.
Once you finish your act, decide if you want to continue performing magic tricks or move on. Some people are already content with doing something just once while others are motivated to learn other magic tricks and pursue this as a long term career. You can even teach people how to do this so you are able to impart some knowledge to those who are also fascinated.
Will learning magic tricks easy? No but you can improve your skill each time you try. Sometimes you learn more by making a few mistakes on the way so that when you are up on stage, this mistake does not happen and you are able to get the recognition from the audience.
